In the spring of 2000, we set our in-house designer Hartmut Weise a clearly defined task: ″Please design us some treats for the hand and the eye, or tools for the hand and treats for the eye, both in stainless steel”.
Hartmut Weise promptly set about punching, stamping, lasing, cutting and jointing. Very much in the spirit of ‘new flatness’, he fashioned a series of designs with one thing in common: the inherent formal tension of parts punched out of flat metal and then jointed together. The lever handles were complemented with designs for door knobs plus window handles and fasteners. A novel back plate was also created.
All fittings are offered in satin-finished stainless steel as standard, and optionally in a mirror polish variant. Following his successful global debut with the ecologically focused ‘Featherlight’ handle series in aluminium, Hartmut Weise has thus once again made his mark in the world of design.
