8801

A high quality heavy duty commercial grade mortise lock series (Grade 1) capable of meeting the requirements of a vast array of lever, knob and grip handle designs. Available standard as a 2¾" backset, they may also be had in 2½", 3¾", 5" and 6" extended backsets.

The 8801 Series incorporate a standard 1¼" wide faceplate and are designed for doors 1¾" thick and greater. They may also be ordered with a 1" wide faceplate designed for doors 1⅜" thick and greater on request. A universal curved lip strike for hollow metal and wood frame construction conforms to ANSI Standard A 115.1, 4.875 × 1.25" (124 × 32 mm) lip to center. Flat lip, special length and custom strikes may also be ordered to accommodate various project conditions and requirements. Locks and strikes are field reversible and available in a variety of keyed and non-keyed functions and include emergency egress functions where applicable.

The 8801 Series employ highcarbon steel compression springs for long life and durability of service. Hubs are fabricated of oil impregnated, copper infiltrated sintered steel, for additional strength and positive latch retraction. Cases are designed to accommodate FSB through bolted trim for positive alignment with the lock case. The 8801 Series are regularly furnished with a ¾" throw, two-piece mechanical heavy-duty anti-friction latch bolt to meet UL requirements for use on a pair of fire doors.

Dead bolts are fabricated with hardened steel inserts. Faceplates and strikes are fabricated standard in nonmagnetic 304 alloy stainless steel. Brass or bronze substrates and most decorative finishes may be had on a special order basis. The 8801 Series are UL Listed (3 Hour) for use on fire doors and can be specified for applications in offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, and commercial buildings, as well as residences.

All 8801 Series Mortise Locksets may be electrified for electromechanical function requirements. Solinoids are UL tested for cycle life, low operating temperature, shock and fire hazard qualifications.

Electromechanical locks are designed for intermittent or continuous duty and are available in either 12 or 24 VAC/VDC,and may be ordered either fail-safe or fail-secure. The 8801 Series have been tested in accordance with the American National Standard for Mortise Locks and Latches and meet or exceed the ANSI A 156.13-1987 specifications, making them the best choice for any building where safety, security and design compatibility are prime considerations.

All FSB mortise locks are compatible with most US cylinders. When using other brands of cylinders, they must be supplied with an FSB compatible cam.

Face cutouts and center to center dimensions are subject to variation. Always review trim requirements prior to door preparation.
